Male and hormone female panel
- We are governed by the chemical running around our bodies, making us us – namely our hormones. So many symptoms are associated with sub optimal levels; moodiness, weight gain, depression, anxiety, fatigue, low libedo, osteoporosis, weakness, insomnia – that it sound be one of the first test performed to rule out other causes. Women and men of all ages can be affected. I’m often suprised how many of my male patients confide in my that they have low libedo and sure enough, when we test thier testosterone it proves to be low for thier age. If hormones are sub functioning, there is no chance for you to live optimally. Luckily, I am now qualified to perscribe bio-identical hormones. Click here for more information.

Thyroid – full, including rT3 etc
- Along with our adrenal glands, your thyroid glands help to regulate the body. Controlling temperature, weight and energy, dysfunction in this gland leads to some nasty symptoms.
- Hypothyroidism can result in fatigue, weight gain, depression, slow reflexes, dry skin, constipation, headaches and aches and pains.
- Hyperthyroidism can result in anxiety, weight loss and digestive complaints. Interestingly, thyroid issues are often undiagnosed, with the normal reference range being reduced after labs found that the sample they used to determine ‘normal’ comprised of many people who actually were hypothryoid.

Adrenal functional test
- Cortisol is secreted form the adrenal glands in a circadian rhythm. When this rhythm is disturbed, adrenal dysregulation may occur, possibly resulting in insomnia, depression, anxiety, fatigue, weight gain, immune dysregulation, headaches and aches and pains. Because cortisol plays an important role in the body’s utilization of fat, protein and carbohydrates, as well as the cardiovascular regulation, research shows that stress and anxiety strongly impact our overall health and wellbeing,
- Taking a1 point cortisol test, such as your MD may do via the blood, leaves out a large part of the picture, as the accompanying diagram illustrates. Pehaps your cortisol spike is at night, while you’re trying to sleep causing insomnia, but is ‘normal’ through out the rest of the day. A 4 point cortisol test, performed upon waking, noon, evening and midnight, gives us a much better picture of how well the body if functioning.

Heavy Metals
- Polllutants are all around us, dental fillings, gasoline, vaccinations; heck, we used to play with mercury for fun an we all know why the ‘hatter’ became mad in “Alice in Wonderland’ (they used to use mercury to shape the hats). Cadmium, mercury, lead and arsenic are listed by the World Health Organisation in the10 chemicals of major public concern.
- The body is a smart machine, and will not allow these harmful substances to run around our blood, so instead it sequestes them away; to the brain, fat cells, bones – where they can’t do as much immediate harm. But harm they do, disruption of the endocrine (hormone) system being the most prevelant leading to neurological and hormonal issues, including cancer. A simple urine test involving a chelation challenge can help us determine your levels of heavy metals.

Hair Mineral Analysis
- There is a growing body of evidence that effective nutrition and mineral metabolism plays a significant role in reducing and preventing the major diseases of today. A simple analysis of recent hair growth can give insite into not only how well you are absorping your minerals, but organ function as well – as some organs need certain minerals more than others

Genetics
- As NDs,in July 2016, when we moved from the juristiction of the drugless practicioners act to that of the ____, we lost the right to recomend genetic testing. A huge blow for us, and me in particuarily as my undergrad is in Genetics and Molecular biology. There there are some fantastic function genetic panels which can show us areas of functional weakness (pathways where only 1, or possibly no genes are present) allowing us to support that area and prevent disease.
